FALLEN 2025 is an award-winning, powerful hybrid film by Sam Joseph that reclaims the narrative around domestic violence and femicide, shifting focus from passive victimhood to strength and the power of resilience. Set within the supposed safety of a scanned home, exposed here as one of the most dangerous places for women.

FALLEN follows two women whose lives become inextricably linked through creative performance and choreography. One is nearing the end of her story, her final moments shaped by the fatal consequences of domestic violence. The other watches, and in her, sees her own future. As she acts in an attempt to save a life, she is forced to confront the violence in her own life. In that pivotal moment, survival becomes not just an act of bravery, but of defiance. Poetic cinematography from award winning Zoran Veljkovic, choreography and emotive performances by artists Elizabeth Roberts and Annie Edwards. Original music by Calvin Calica, costumes by Stella Lam and real time video projections Zac Miller-Waugh. FALLEN is inspired by Killed Women and organisations who advocate for policy change.

FALLEN is a hybrid film, that expands into a 360° VR, multi-projection installation and 2D screen print series.

In honour of all victims and survivors of intimate partner violence. FALLEN reclaims the narrative around domestic violence and femicide, shifting focus from passive victimhood to strength and the power of resilience.
